One-of-a-kind Old Gringo men’s black buffalo boot
- Square toe

- All-leather black Bison boot
- 3/4 Goodyear welted stitch
-
1 3/8” stacked leather heel
Unlike our competitors, Planet Cowboy boots are made of 100% bovine leather, from the side and top piping to the stack leather heels and the triple leather sole, and, in some, cases even the inside toe box. It matters to us and to planet earth to use natural materials, therefore we do what we can when we can to keep plastic away. Many other brands have plastic components inside their boots you cannot see, and as a result they never break in just right or are quite as comfortable.
Please keep in mind that colors, tones and marks vary from boot to boot due to our use of natural hides and dyes.
Fitting your cowboy boots is very important. A traditionally made cowboy boot like Planet Cowboy should never be bought tight to begin with. It should be firm only at the top of the boot (where laces usually are) and your heel and toes should be loose and free. When the boot breaks in the heel will not come up as much, but it must in the beginning - it kind of feels like a flip flop with an arch support. In many cases we provide sole cushions so that you can add as you desire for comfort and fit. We have boot fit consultants available during business hours to assist you with fit questions and we highly recommend you take advantage prior to ordering! You can call us at 615-730-5789 or message here, but please be patient. We are a small business and we will get to you as soon as possible with a live person!
Cowboy boots are hardy footwear, designed to be used for a long day of work or play, but they do require a little bit of care to last. We recommend adding a thin rubber vibram sole at your local shoe repair shop if you plan to go out in inclement weather. This will prevent slipping, getting moisture through the natural leather sole, and the leather sole wearing down over time. Of course, many prefer the natural sole feel…and, of course, it is necessary for dancing 😉 The most important trick for longevity is to protect the sole every season with mink oil or beeswax. This gets applied only on the sole and heel to prevent water absorption. For the top of the foot and shaft we recommend leather conditioner and cleaner from our local Tennessee neighbors Blackrock. This is only for smooth shiny leathers. For nubuck and suede, only use suede cleaners and protectors. We also recommend stuffing the boot on it's days off with paper or a boot tree to keep the shape and keep it dry. Only store in dry places and not in direct sunlight! Check out our Boot Care Collection for all your boot care needs!
